Peoria City announces first Central Illinois Raised players Kayden Hudson, Noah Grieshaber to join roster

(May 10, 2024 | Peoria, Illinois) – Peoria City welcomes local high school star soccer players, Kayden Hudson and Noah Grieshaber, to the 2024 roster.

Hudson is a 2-time Peoria Journal Star Boys Soccer Player of the Year, while also achieving All-State, All-Region and United Soccer Coaches All-American accolades during his time playing forward at Peoria Notre Dame.

Grieshaber, a goalkeeper from University High School (U-High) in Normal, Illinois, was IHSA All-Conference and All Sectional in 2023, Academic All-Conference in 2022 and 2023, while being Varsity MVP in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Both Hudson and Grieshaber, high school juniors at their respective schools, have earned the opportunity to train with Peoria City’s USL League Two franchise, while being available to put on the badge and roster for any home matches, if called upon by the coaching staff.

This is the first time Peoria City has rostered players who are still enrolled in high school. Local talent is not hard to find in Peoria City. Area stars like Noah Madrigal, Lucas Fontana, Myles Sophanavong, Nick Cenek, Sam Moore and Wes Gibson have been an integral part of multiple Peoria City rosters.

Both Hudson and Grieshaber have started training ahead of the 2024 season and have both proven to be solid additions to the team. More Peoria City call-ups are expected in the future, with the formal collaboration between Peoria City and the Central Illinois Soccer Academy (CISA) announced this spring. The CISA U23 Training Program will train alongside Peoria City throughout the summer, giving players the chance to prove themselves and make the main roster.

All Peoria City home games will be played at Bradley University’s Shea Stadium and are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Gates to the Industry Brewing Tailgate Zone will open at 4:30 p.m., with food trucks and drinks ready to serve at 5:00 p.m.
