PEORIA, IL — Coming off an impressive 5-1 victory over Chicago Dutch Lions FC, Peoria City takes on newfound USL League Two foe Springfield Athletic Sporting Club (ASC).
First, we hit the road for the hour-long drive to Springfield to play the Monarchs on Wednesday, July 5th. The FieldHouse Bar & Grill will be hosting an away-game watch party for fans who can’t make the trip.
Then, Peoria City hosts Springfield for our final home match of the season at Shea Stadium.
Sunday, July 9th will be “Park District Day” as we welcome youth soccer players and their families from the Peoria Park District’s soccer programs. We are excited about this new partnership with the Peoria Park District and hope it will grow for years to come.
Additionally, all Peoria Chiefs season ticket holders will get in free to our final home game of the season. Peoria City season ticket holders will get in free to the Chiefs home game on Friday, July 14th and Peoria City players will get to throw out the first pitches.
We are also welcoming groups from the Morton Public Library summer reading program, Morton United FC, and Limestone Soccer Club to the game on Sunday. These are always great opportunities for local kids to meet our players, get photos, and make wonderful memories.
We hope these two games against Springfield ASC will spark a central Illinois rivalry between the two squads.
