Draw Keeps Peoria City Undefeated on the Road

THUNDER BAY, ON (June 10, 2022) – Daniel Orrego scored in the 11th minute, helping Peoria City (2-1-3, nine points) remain undefeated on the road with a 1-1 draw at Thunder Bay Chill Friday night at Tbaytel Field at Chapples Park.

Thunder Bay had the first chance of the game in the 6th minute, hitting a goal post, before Peoria City got the scoring started. Orrego was able to locate the ball in the box and put it home to give the visitors the 1-0 lead. Neither team was able to generate many opportunities the remainder of the half, until Thunder Bay netted the equalizer in first-half extra time.

The second half was much of the same as Peoria City and Thunder Bay traded possession, but neither was able to find the back of the net again. Late in the game both teams received free kicks near the box, but continued to come up empty.

Soon after, the referee blew the whistle signaling full time, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.  Peoria City remains undefeated (2-0-1) away from home this season.

Peoria City’s next game will be Sunday (1 p.m.) at  FC Manitoba, before returning home to face the Des Moines Menace June 22 (7 p.m.) at Shea Stadium.
