WPSL Reveals 2025 League Schedule

Peoria City to Play 8-Game WPSL Schedule in Debut Season

(MARCH 25, 2025 | PEORIA, IL) – The debut campaign for Peoria City’s women’s team will feature eight games in the WPSL Gateway Division to be played between May 16 and June 27, according to the announcement of the league-wide schedule for all teams Tuesday afternoon.

Peoria City’s first-ever game will be Friday, May 16 at FC Pride in Indianapolis. The team’s inaugural home opener is set for Saturday, May 24 versus Lou Fusz Athletic. The three additional regular-season WPSL home games are scheduled for Wednesday, May 28 versus Junction FC; Saturday, June 7 versus Missouri Reign and Sunday, June 15 versus FC Pride.

In addition to the WPSL regular-season schedule, Peoria City is finalizing a fifth game to complete the home slate for the women’s team.  All five home games for the women are scheduled to be played at Bradley University’s Shea Stadium (1523 W. Nebraska Avenue).

Peoria City season tickets are currently on sale by visiting peoriacitysoccer.com/tickets and are available for as low as $25 for general admission seating for the five-game women’s home slate or $65 for the bundled package to include all the men’s and women’s home games.

Following the club’s first-ever game May 16, Peoria City’s three remaining WPSL road games are scheduled for Wednesday, June 11 at Junction FC (Champaign, IL); Saturday, June 21 at Missouri Reign (Columbia, MO); and Friday, June 27 at Lou Fusz Athletic (Earth City, MO).

Peoria City continues to announce additions to both the men’s and women’s team rosters. The women’s WPSL side currently features 24 players, including 10 from Central Illinois communities, as well as four from the University of Illinois, five from Illinois State, three from Illinois Wesleyan and three from Heartland Community College. Both the men’s and women’s team rosters are updated online at peoriacitysoccer.com/about/team/roster and roster additions will continue to be announced through the club’s social media platforms.

Peoria City’s USL League Two men’s team kicked off its fourth season Saturday by hosting the Under-23 team of Chivas de Guadalajara in the Copa Peoria Series international friendly. Playing in front of a crowd of 2,072 at Peoria Stadium, Peoria City rallied behind two goals from Clarke University forward Daniel Valverde for a 2-1 victory. Valverde came off the bench to score the equalizer in the 77th minute and the game-winner in extra time.

The Flying Carp return to action Saturday, April 26 by taking on Bradley in a “classic” matchup of the two teams that call Shea Stadium home.
