Modelo Especial Added to Game-Day Beverage Menu
(MAY 6, 2026 | PEORIA, IL) – Peoria City has announced a two-year, premium partnership with Koerner Distributor Inc. that will bring La Cerveza Del Futbol to Shea Stadium.
The premium partnership includes the addition of Modelo Especial, “The Football Beer,” to the Bradley spirits window during Peoria City games at Shea Stadium throughout the spring and summer. In addition to the beverage offering for fans, the Modelo logo appears on the sleeve of Peoria City’s new game day jerseys by Aretyn, as well as on field side signage. The June 13 home game versus Santafé Wanderers FC will feature a Peoria City and Modelo themed jersey style can koozie giveaway for the first 300 season-ticket holders (ages 21 and over) to enter the stadium. Additional koozies will be available for purchase at the concessions stand.
Through the partnership, Koerner Distributor also has donated 100 Peoria City single-game tickets to United Way of Pekin.
Peoria City officially kicks off its fifth season in USL League Two Saturday by visiting Great Plains Division rival FC Ambush for a 7 pm game at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. The Flying Carp then return to Shea Stadium for a four-game home stand, beginning with a trio of games in the CEFCU Friendlies Series: Tuesday, May 12 versus. Sueño FC (6:00 pm); Saturday, May 16 against BOHFS St. Louis (7:30 pm); and Tuesday, May 19 versus River Light FC (6:00 pm).
The home stand will conclude with a marquee matchup Saturday, May 23 (7:30 pm) versus League Two rival and perennial national power Des Moines Menace. The game against the Menace will feature another special promotional item: the first 300 season-ticket holders through the entry gates will receive a foam, carp-shaped hat from OSF HealthCare with additional hats available for purchase at the 1894 Sports merchandise stand. Peoria City tickets, as well as information on summer camps, memberships in the School of Carp Kids Club and booster club, and sign ups for the Joey Olson COUNTRY Financial Ball Chasers all are available for visiting the club online at PeoriaCitySoccer.com.
