Final Two Weeks of Regular Season Includes Four Celebration Events
(JUNE 25, 2026 | PEORIA, IL) – The country is celebrating its 250th birthday, the US Men’s National Team has qualified for the knockout stage in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Peoria City enters the final two weeks of the regular season ranked among the top 15 teams nationally in USL League Two and the leader in the Great Plains Division standings; and the Carp invites the Central Illinois community to join in the summer celebration!
Peoria City (7-0-1) has planned a pair of World Cup Watch parties tonight and July 1 and has two great promotions lined up for its final two home games July 2 and July 11 in its quest to sell out Shea Stadium for a regular-season game for the first time in the club’s five-year history.
Peoria City invites the community to Crusens on Farmington Road this evening for its second World Cup Watch Party as the US takes on Türkiye in the final round of Group D play. The players will arrive by 8:30 pm in advance of the 9 o’clock game, which will be shown throughout the restaurant at Crusens. Peoria City’s Modelo jersey-styled can koozies will be provided with the purchase of Modelo during tonight’s watch party.
The US has already clinched its spot in the World Cup knockout stage and Peoria City again invites the community to join in a special watch party with Peoria City players and staff Wednesday, July 1 for a viewing on a giant projection from the grass field adjacent to The Yard Peoria (1503 W. Altorfer Drive). Admission to the July 1 watch party will be free and the club will have simple concessions and merchandise available, while calls to the Food Truck community have been made. Peoria City players will arrive at The Yard following their evening practice and the game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm kickoff.
While the Carp will continue their chase for their first-ever USL League Two division championship Saturday night at Des Moines Menace, the club is preparing to host its final two home games of the season – Thursday, July 2 versus FC Ambush and Saturday, July 11 against Springfield FC – and wants the community to join in this summer’s special celebratory vibe. Peoria City annually ranks among League Two’s national attendance leaders, but the club is issuing a challenge to the community to sell out Shea Stadium for the first time ever for a regular-season game and is offering two great promotions to enhance the challenge. The July 2 game versus FC Ambush will be capped by the club’s annual postgame fireworks show and Peoria City will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night July 11 by offering half-price discounts on tickets for the regular-season finale.
