History

Shea Stadium opened in 2003 as the home of the Bradley University soccer program. Located right off Interstate 74, it’s location and size make it the perfect home for Peoria City.

With seating for more than 2,500 fans, Peoria City will certainly enjoy the benefit from a home-field advantage!

Formally a college and minor league baseball stadium, Shea Stadium was renovated for soccer and named in honor of the lead gift to the conversion project made by Bradley University alumnus and local businessman Tim Shea.

Directions & Location

Shea Stadium is located less than one mile from the Bradley University campus at 1523 W. Nebraska Avenue in Peoria, Illinois.

  • Travel north on Interstate 55 to Interstate 155 in Lincoln, Ill.
  • Take the left exit ramp onto Interstate 155 North and continue north to Interstate 74 in Morton, Illinois.
  • Take the left exit onto I-74 West and continue west through downtown Peoria.
  • Exit I-74 West at University Street (Exit 91).
  • At the top of the ramp, get into the left of the two right-turn lanes and briefly head north on University Street.
  • Turn left onto Nebraska Avenue and the primary Shea Stadium parking area will be located one block ahead on the left.

  • Take I-74 West through downtown Peoria.
  • Exit I-74 West at University Street (Exit 91).
  • At the top of the ramp, get into the left of the two right-turn lanes and briefly head north on University Street).
  • Turn left onto Nebraska Avenue and the primary Shea Stadium parking area will be located one block ahead on the left.

  • Take I-55 South to Bloomington-Normal, then follow the directions for “From Indianapolis/Bloomington-Normal.

  • Take I-74 East to Peoria, Illinois.
  • Exit I-74 at University Street (Exit 91).
  • At the top of the exit ramp, turn left onto University Street and continue north across I-74.
  • Get into the far left lane in preparation for a left turn at the first traffic light (Nebraska Avenue).
  • Turn left onto Nebraska Avenue and the primary Shea Stadium parking area will be located one block ahead on the left.
