Peoria City Night with the Rivermen

The Peoria Rivermen SPHL Team Will Host Peoria City Saturday, March 1

Peoria City’s historic 2024 season will be celebrated when the club is honored by the Peoria Rivermen Saturday, March 1 as the SPHL franchise hosts the Knoxville Ice Bears for a 7:15 pm match at the Peoria Civic Center’s Carver Arena.

Peoria City season-ticket holders will receive information on how to claim complimentary tickets for the March 1 hockey game and the soccer club also will work with the hockey team to schedule a reciprocal Peoria Rivermen Night during the 2025 season this summer.

Peoria City team members will participate in the pre-game puck drop, players from both the men’s USL League Two team and the inaugural women’s WPSL expansion team will be available for autographs and the club will have both merchandise and 2025 season tickets, as well as single-game tickets for the March 22 Copa Peoria Series game versus Chivas de Guadalajara U23, available for purchase in the Peoria Civic Center Great Hall.

In its third year of competition in 2024, Peoria City enjoyed a magical run to the USL League Two national championship game, which it hosted at Shea Stadium. The club also hosted its first two international friendly competitions by introducing the Copa Peoria Series with two games versus Chivas U23 and claimed the inaugural Lincoln Cup versus Springfield FC before beginning its unprecedented run of five playoff home games, which included the USL League Two Central Conference championship.

The club’s success on the field and in the community through its first three years generated an invitation from the Women’s Premier Soccer League to launch a women’s team, which has been accepted as a first-year expansion team in WPSL this summer.

Currently tied atop the SPHL standings with 59 points, the Peoria Rivermen have won two of the last three President’s Cup trophies as the league champion, while also producing the league’s best regular-season record six times through its first 10 seasons in the SPHL.
