(July 11, 2024 | Peoria, Illinois) – Having already clinched a berth in the USL League Two Playoffs for the second time in the club’s three years of competition, Peoria City continues to make history as the club has been selected to host a pod of opening-weekend postseason competition. USL League Two action will return to Shea Stadium Friday, July 19 for a pair of Central Conference Quarterfinals matches, followed by a Central Conference Semifinal match Sunday, July 21.
The exact matchups are still to be determined, but the first quarterfinal game at Shea Stadium is set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff Friday, July 19 and will be followed by Peoria City’s first-ever postseason home game at 7:30. The winners of Friday’s two matches will face off in a Central Conference Semifinal Sunday, July 21 at 1:30 p.m. CT.

Tickets for each of the two days of postseason competition at Shea Stadium may be purchased in advance by visiting PeoriaCitySoccer.com/tickets. One ticket will be good for both quarterfinal games on July 19 with four seating options available: General Admission ($6), Shea Brigade Endzone ($10), Fieldside Grandstand ($18) and Fieldside Club ($30). Tickets for Sunday’s semifinal game also are available in the same four locations: General Admission ($10), Shea Brigade Endzone ($12), Fieldside Grandstand ($20), Fieldside Club ($30).
Peoria City’s 2024 season-ticket owners will be emailed links to dedicated portals, allowing for online purchases at discounted rates. Season-ticket owners also may present their Fieldhouse Bar & Grill season-ticket cards at the Shea Stadium entry gate to receive their discounted postseason ticket rates.
The Industry Brewing Tailgate Zone will open at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 19 and at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, July 21. Stadium gates will open one hour prior to the kickoff of each day’s first game. Peoria City is working to schedule food truck vendors for both days and the Prairie Home Alliance Play Packs will be on sale on the Shea Stadium concourse.
All three USL League Two Playoff matches from Shea Stadium will be streamed by Clutch Sports Media through USL broadcast partner SportsEngine Play.
Peoria has now qualified for the USL League Two Playoffs in two out of its three years in existence. In 2022, the club’s inaugural season, Peoria City exited the USL League Two Playoffs after a first-round loss to Chicago FC United.
Similar to 2022, Peoria City and the Des Moines Menace earned the first and second place rankings and will represent the Heartland Division in the 2024 Playoffs.
Peoria was selected as one of the USL League Two Playoffs hosts because of its success in competition, operational standards and hospitality. None of these things would have been possible without the faithful 309 supporter’s group and all Peoria City fans, partners and the Greater Peoria community.

The community’s ability to host soccer matches of great magnitude was on display during the Inaugural Copa Peoria Series. Peoria City hosted Chivas de Guadalajara U23 for two international friendlies, along with multiple community events benefitting local businesses, organizations and soccer fans alike.
Now, the City of Peoria will welcome multiple regional teams down I-74 and into the Heart of Peoria, supporting local hotels, restaurants and more local businesses.
