Peoria City Adds Striker Ahead of St. Croix Rematch

PEORIA, IL (June 2, 2022) – As Peoria City prepares for Friday night’s rematch versus St. Croix SC, the first-year USL League Two squad has added to its offensive attack by signing Northeastern University forward Timothy Ennin.

Preparing for his senior season at Northeastern, Ennin is a two-time (2019, 2021) All-Colonial Athletics Association third team selection who has scored 15 goals and racked up 38 total points in his first three collegiate seasons.  The 5-foot-9 striker was the 2019 CAA Rookie of the Year after leading the Huskies with seven goals and finishing second in the league with three game-winners.

Ennin’s addition comes as Peoria City looks to solidify its League Two playoffs position as the midpoint of the season approaches.  Currently sitting in second place in the Deep North Division table with seven points, Peoria City (2-1-1) will host fourth-place St. Croix SC (1-2-0, 3 points) in a 7 p.m. match Friday night at Bradley University’s Shea Stadium.  Peoria City rallied for a 2-1 victory at St. Croix May 22 to complete its first-ever road trip with six points.

Friday’s game will be Youth Soccer Club Night at Shea Stadium – all local youth soccer clubs are encouraged to attend with their players and coaches for a fun, end-of-spring team gathering.  Youth players are encouraged to wear their team jerseys and will be invited onto the field to kick the ball around at halftime and then again postgame to meet the Peoria City players and staff.

Single-game tickets for Peoria City home games begin at just $5 and are available for sale online at PeoriaCitySoccer.com, in person at Five Bars locations The Fieldhouse Bar & Grill, The Fox Pub and Cafe and Pour Bros. Craft Taproom and on game nights beginning one hour before kickoff at the Shea Stadium entry gate.  All Peoria City home games are slated for 7 p.m. start times at Bradley University’s Shea Stadium with free tailgate parking available beginning at five o’clock.

Following Friday’s game, Peoria City will have three home games remaining:  Wednesday, June 22 vs. Des Moines Menace; Friday, July 1 against FC Manitoba; and Sunday, July 3 vs. Thunder Bay Chill.
