(APRIL 17, 2026 | PEORIA, IL) – Peoria City will tease the start of its fifth season of USL League Two soccer when the Flying Carp co-host the second annual Shea Classic with the Bradley University men’s soccer team Sunday afternoon at Shea Stadium.

The Shea Classic will be the first of six exhibition events in Peoria City’s 2026 CEFCU Friendlies Series and will feature a jamboree-style format that also will include the Illinois Central College men’s soccer team. While Bradley and ICC both will feature their spring rosters, Peoria City’s squad will include fully-rostered players Tommy Barrell,Jose Gomez, Kevin Mejias, Josh Reddy teamed with a number of players participating in a trial with the club.

Sunday’s Shea Classic will be a free admission event with the track parking area opening at 10:00 am and the rotation of games starting at 1 o’clock. Food truck vendors Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee and That Bald Guy BBQ will be on site and Peoria City will conduct a clearance sale of merchandise with all items available at a 50 percent discount. Fans also may purchase 2026 season tickets, reserved season tailgate parking spaces and single-game tickets for the upcoming Peoria City season.

Peoria City is preparing for its fifth season bringing family-friendly entertainment from the nation’s premier pre-professional soccer league to Central Illinois. Building rosters made up of a combination of local, college and international talent from all levels across the globe, Peoria City has qualified for the USL League Two Playoffs in three of its first four seasons, including a historic run to host of the national final in 2024.

Following Sunday’s Shea Classic, Peoria City will continue its CEFCU Friendlies Series Saturday, May 2 by hosting the Northwestern University Men’s Soccer team in a 6:00 pm contest at Shea Stadium, a tune-up before opening the League Two season May 9 at FC Ambush. The Flying Carp also will host Sueño FC May 12 (6:00 pm), BOHFS St. Louis May 16 (7:30 pm) and River Light FC May 19 (6:00 pm) in CEFCU Friendlies before hosting perennial League Two power and rival Des Moines Menace in their regular-season home opener May 23 (7:30 pm), all at Shea Stadium.

(APRIL 10, 2026 | PEORIA, IL) – For the second consecutive season, Peoria City invites young fans 10 years of age and older to participate in the game operations at Shea Stadium as Joey Olson COUNTRY Financial once again sponsors the ball chasers program.

Parents are invited to visit the “Ball Chasers” link within the About menu at PeoriaCitySoccer.com to sign up their children, ages 10+, for the Joey Olson COUNTRY Financial Ball Chasers program. These are working positions tasked with assisting the Peoria City and opposing players with returning the game ball to action when knocked out of bounds. 

When completing the registration form, please select the game(s) the child is available to work during the 2026 Peoria City season. Peoria City staff will identify 6-10 ball chasers to work each game, based on the number of submissions, and then confirm each game’s assignment via email with the registered parent/guardian.

Ball chasers are asked to report to the Joey Olson – COUNTRY Financial table next to the merchandise stand 45 minutes prior to the game’s scheduled start time. Each ball chaser will receive a t-shirt to wear during the game and will be escorted to the field with the group. The ball chasers will have a group photo taken each game and will participate in the “International Walk Out” with the players, before moving to their assigned section of the field for the game.

In addition to complimentary admission for the ball chaser, one parent/guardian for each chaser also will be provided complimentary general admission for the game(s) in which the child is working.

Peoria City is scheduled to play 12 games at Bradley University’s Shea Stadium this spring and summer, beginning with the April 19 Shea Classic (1 pm), a free admission event in a jamboree style format featuring a handful of committed Peoria City players with a number of trialists competing with Bradley, Illinois Central College and players from 2025 NJCAA Division 1 national champion Indian Hills Community College.

Game Day Ticket Sales

While purchasing tickets online in advance is the best way to ensure your ticket for a Peoria City game, club staff will continue to sell tickets on game days at the Shea Stadium entry gates with several options available:

The first 50 guests seeking access to the Community End Zone on the Nebraska Avenue end of the game field at Shea Stadium will receive free admission. Additional tickets for this standing-room-only section will be available for $5. These tickets may be claimed only when gates open one hour prior to kickoff at Gate 4, located at the northeast corner of Shea Stadium adjacent to the light tower with the cellular phone equipment attached, and access will be granted only to the end zone. A satellite concessions/merch table and portable restrooms will be available.

Provides access to the main Shea Stadium grandstand, as well as the south (I-74 end) end zone with The 309 supporters group. General admission tickets may be purchased at Gate 2 beneath the covered entrance into Shea Stadium beginning one hour to the scheduled game time. Several group ticket options and experiences are available by emailing the club at peoriacitysoccer@gmail.com.

Provides access to lawn chair seating on the field directly in front of the main grand stand. A satellite concessions table will be available. Field Side Grandstand tickets may be purchased at Gate 2 beneath the covered entrance into Shea Stadium beginning one hour to the scheduled game time.

Entry into the Crusens Tailgate Zone, the grass infield adjacent to Shea Stadium, will be available for $5 per vehicle. Reservations may be purchased online up to 3.5 hours prior to the game’s scheduled start time at which time online sales will close. Any remaining spaces will be sold upon arrival beginning 3 hours prior to the game’s scheduled kickoff time while spaces remain.

Home-and-Home Series vs BOHFS Final Additions to CEFCU Friendlies

(MARCH 27, 2026 | PEORIA, IL) – Peoria City will play Midwest Premier League power BOHFS St. Louis in a home-and-home pairing of games this season, the final two additions to the CEFCU Friendlies Series.

With a Saturday night open following the start of the USL League Two season, Peoria City will fill the date by hosting BOHFS St. Louis for the fourth game in the CEFCU Friendlies Series Saturday, May 16. The exhibition event is set for a 7:30 pm kickoff with the Crusens Tailgate Zone opening at 4:30. The teams will meet for a second time Monday, June 15 (6:00 pm) at Sport 360 in St. Charles, MO.

After elevating to the Midwest Premier League last season, BOHFS earned a spot in the 2026 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup and hosted USL League One professional team Union Omaha in the opening round last week.

Exhibition Against Ehtar Belleville FC Sixth in CEFCU Friendlies Series

(MARCH 26, 2026 | PEORIA, IL) – Peoria City will host a 2025 division champion as the sixth event revealed in this season’s CEFCU Friendlies Series, according to a club announcement Thursday morning.

With a 10-day gap in between USL League Two regular-season games, Peoria City will host Ehtar Belleville FC Tuesday, June 9 at Shea Stadium. The exhibition against the 2025 Midwest Premier League Gateway East Division champion is slated for a 6:00 pm kickoff and the Crusens Tailgate Zone will open at 3 o’clock.

Committed to delivering its fan base a full season of family-friendly entertainment while providing its roster of players the maximum opportunity to showcase their talents, Peoria City is partnering with CEFCU to deliver a series of eight exhibition games to complement its 2026 USL League Two schedule this spring and summer. 

The eight games in the CEFCU Friendlies Series will expand Peoria City’s 2026 schedule to 20 total games, including 12 home events. To fill the gap, the Flying Carp have added two games versus League Two Heartland Division members to the CEFCU Friendlies Series Tuesday, May 12 against Sueño FC and Tuesday, May 19 against River Light FC. Both games will kick off at 6:00 pm with the Crusens Tailgate Zone opening at 3 o’clock.

Peoria City is preparing for its fifth season of competition in USL League Two, the nation’s top pre-professional men’s soccer league, with 158 clubs in 2026 stretching from coast-to-coast. The club has qualified for the League Two Playoffs in three of its first four seasons, including a run to the 2024 national championship game while serving as a tournament host through all five postseason rounds.

Peoria City to kick off season, CEFCU Friendlies Series with pair of college exhibitions

(MARCH 24, 2026 | PEORIA, IL) – For the second consecutive year, Peoria City will kick off its 2026 season with a pair of exhibition events versus collegiate competition, the latest events announced as part of the CEFCU Friendlies Series.

With a commitment to provide its fan base a full season of family-friendly entertainment while providing its roster of players the maximum opportunity to showcase their talents, Peoria City is partnering with CEFCU to deliver a series of eight exhibition games to complement its 2026 USL League Two schedule this spring and summer. The club announced Monday it will conclude the CEFCU Friendlies Series with a July 4 exhibition at USL League One professional club Forward Madison FC.

Peoria City’s 2026 season and CEFCU Friendlies Series will begin Sunday, April 19 when the Flying Carp partner with the Bradley University men’s soccer team to co-host the Shea Classic, a jamboree style event that will feature a handful of committed Peoria City players with several trialists, as well as the Bradley, Illinois Central College and Indian Hills Community College teams. Set for a 1:00 pm start at Bradley University’s Shea Stadium, the Shea Classic will be a free admission event.

Featuring a more complete roster of committed players, Peoria City will continue to trial prospective additions to the roster when the Flying Carp host Big Ten Conference foe Northwestern Saturday, May 2. The 6:00 pm exhibition will be the first in Peoria City’s 11-game season-ticket package. The Crusens Tailgate Zone will open three hours prior to the start time of both collegiate events.

The eight games in the CEFCU Friendlies Series will expand Peoria City’s 2026 schedule to 20 total games, including 12 home events. All 12 home games are scheduled to be played at Bradley University’s Shea Stadium and will be included in 2026 season-ticket packages (the April 19 game will be a free admission event for all fans).
