PEORIA, Ill. — Wednesday night’s match at Shea Stadium against the Chicago Dutch Lions has been postponed.
The severe air quality throughout central Illinois has made outdoor activities tonight unsafe. We have worked in coordination with USL League Two and Chicago Dutch Lions FC to reschedule our match in just two days.
“We will host the Chicago Dutch Lions on Friday, June 30th at 7:30 PM. Shea Stadium will become a Friday Night Lights match against our Heartland Division competitor. Out of an abundance of caution and care for our supporters, players and staff, we have decided to postpone Wednesday night’s match. We are hopeful the air quality will become healthier on Friday night, and we look forward to welcoming fans, vendors and the Chicago Dutch Lions that night,” said Peoria City Director of Communications Matt Sheehan.
All tickets pre-purchased for Wednesday night’s game will be honored at the rescheduled June 30th game. If you are unable to make it to the June 30th game, we will honor your ticket for our final home match of the season on Sunday, July 9th.
